This will be a short review and straight to the point. Accell's new USB-C to HDMI Adapter promises to be the only one you'll need for years to come. It supports reversible USB 3.1 type-C connector, HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 1.3 compliant, video resolution up to 4K at 60Hz, no external power needed, Works on Macs and PC's.
This dongle has a neat little trick, it utilizes the display port Alt Mode to convert the picture to HDMI 2.0 output. This is all very technical and slightly beyond me but it does it very well and supports the newest MacBook Pro's and I'm told PC's as well.
For a price tag of around $33 on Amazon you can't go wrong this little dongle. I know I'll be using it much more in the future.
